RELAY FOR LIFE
Last night Jake & I walked the Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. This was my first experience doing this and let me say it was quite an emotional few hours! We weren't able to be there during the day, but when we arrived for our shift around 8:30pm I must say I was quite amazed at all the survivors out walking. It was very tough seeing some of the young survivors and hearing all the stories of what they have been thru in their lives! The luminaria ceremony began around 9:30 and boy was it powerful! It began with a few speakers, then a slideshow of people who have lost their battle to cancer and those fighting their battle. While that was showing all the luminaria bags around the whole track were lit as well as the HOPE on the grandstands. It really was an experience I'll never forget! We were honored to have been able to do this for (both mine & Joe's) our family members who we have lost to cancer and for my Uncle who is battling cancer now. We were part of the "Powerful Pink People" team which was my friend Alisa's team whose Mom Bobbe is a Breast Cancer Survivor. You can check out her blog under my links on the right -->, I'm sure she will be posting some pictures of the whole day.
Jake was such a trooper all night and he really wanted to go with me. Each lap you got a paper clip to link together so you knew how many laps you walked. We did 26! Jake was so funny because if he would take a break one lap then would RUN the next so he could keep up with how many laps I did ;-)) It was so touching at one point we were walking and he said to me "This really is a nice thing we are doing, mommy" He worked up quite an appetite...pizza at 11:30pm...yummy!
sorry about the fuzzy night pictures, not sure how to work that setting yet!

MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE!
Last minute plan....Steph was taking Wolfie up to a Mountain Bike Race and asked Justin & Connor to come along. Justin was so excited to go and it sounds like they had a great time! I know it was quite hot but they had fun anyways! I was so happy Justin ventured out and tried something out of his normal realm of sports! Justin is not even really a big bike rider, and does not even have a mountain bike, but that's okay!! Thanks Steph for the great photos I "stole" from your flickr! She has tone more pictures so check out her blog!

FISHING...AND FISH WERE ACTUALLY CAUGHT!
Our neighbor Dave was so kind and took Joe & the boys up to Berryessa fishing last night....and they actually caught fish! The boys were thrilled despite being a bit drugged up! (they both get very carsick so I gave them a "generic dramamine" and apparently it was drowsy formula...Jake was asleep before they even left and both of them slept all the way home) Anyways, they had a great time and were thrilled to catch fishies!!!

T-BALL HAS COME TO AN END FOR JAKE :-((
What a great year the T-Ball Marlins had! A great group of kids and parents! And, of course the best coaches EVER...Jimmy, Joe, Dean & Warren!! The season was actually short because of the bad weather, so it went by really fast...except the last week when they had three games!
Jake getting his trophy from Coach Jimmy.... The boys and their trophies! Such sweet boys! They are all ready for Coach pitch next year!

AND SUMMER BASKETBALL HAS BEGUN FOR JUSTIN....
The 5th grade Dragons had their first tournament this past weekend. Saturday they lost their first game in OT by one point (in their defense, against a team who has been playing together for 5 months and this was their 2nd to last tourney) and the second game they won! Good job boys! Justin woke up with the stomach flu on Sunday so he wasn't able to make it to that game! Good group of boys, missing a few teammates though!
KEEPING UP WITH THE JONES-ES..
...HARDLY! Though, I did copy SJ Denham and "invested" in Banzai Falls for the kiddos! This will be their summer entertainment and hopefully keep them from getting on each others' nerves! Oh, and good leverage for me :-))) My kids always LOVE going to SJ's and playing on hers! It barely fit in our teensie backyard!
No, I did not have another...that's our neighbor Devon!

SACRAMENTO KINGS UPDATE
KINGS NAME ERIC MUSSELMAN THEIR NEW HEAD COACH...STILL WEIRD FOR ME TO THINK NO MORE RICK ADELMAN!! READ THE ARTICLE BELOW FROM THE KINGS WEBSITE The Sacramento Kings today named Eric Musselman as the team’s new head coach, it was announced by Kings’ President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Per club policly, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.“We’re really excited to announce today that Eric Musselman will become the new head coach of the Kings,” explained Petrie. “Among the young coaches in the NBA, he is certainly one of the best and brightest. We’re all extremely impressed with his organization, knowledge, preparation and commitment to winning. He’s a defensive-minded coach, but he’s also proven that he’ll juice his offense, and that type of balance becomes important when you start thinking about playing at higher levels of the game. Today he becomes the Kings coach, our coach, and for all of our fans and supporters in Sacramento, I hope they’ll embrace him as their coach.”

School's out for summer!! (Steph, what movie is that from?!?!?Driving me nutso!!) Anyways, the Kindergartners had their last day of school water day and had a blast! All the classes were out together and had fun little stations to go to! I was sad that Jake's first year of school was already over, but in all honesty I was freaking out more about the fact that Justin only has one more year of Elementary School before heading off to Jr. High! My how time flies!! Joe & I are very proud of the boys for doing so well in school and getting great report cards! We are very lucky they love school so much!! After school a bunch of us headed to the Park for pizza and to let the kids run! I did not have my camera for that :-(( so you'll have to check Steph's blog for any pics! Anna Grace & Taylor we missed you guys!!!
